Manage Settings

There are a number of general settings within the help desk program software that can be customized for your company's help desk regarding the live chat system.  You can change any of the following settings on this page.

If chat system is offline have users link to my helpdesk

Check this box if you want users redirected to your helpdesk when chat system is offline.

Logo

Browse in logo for chat system.

Delete logo

Check this box if you want to delete current logo for chat system.

Initiate Chat Icon

Browse the chat icon you want used when user wants to initiate chat.

Delete Icon

Check this box if you want to delete current "initiate chat icon."

Top Right Online Image

Browse the "top right online image or initiate chat image" for top right corner of your chat system.

Delete Top Right online image

Check this box to delete the "top right online image."

Top Right Offline Image

Browse the "top right offline image."

Delete Top Right offline image

Check this box to delete the "top right offline image."

Home Page Online Image

Browse the online chat image/icon you want your users to see when they visit the home page of your chat system.

Delete Image

Check this box to delete home page online chat image/icon.

Home Page Offline Image

Browse the offline chat image/icon you want your users to see when they visit the home page of your chat system.

Delete Image

Check this box to delete home page offline chat image/icon.

Polling Time and Type

The polling time is the amount of time that is delayed until the user is sent to your offline pop-up area or help desk. The polling type will define how online chats are routed to your staff.

Polling timeout, seconds

Set the amount of time a user waits when requesting a chat session. (must be at least 25 seconds and we recommend 40 seconds)

Set the order operators pick up chat sessions. You have two choices.  Operator that has not taken the call for the longest time gets selected or The defined order is set when you setup a staff member.

Chat background color

Select chat background color.

Operator text color

Select operator text color.

Visitor text color

Select visitor text color.

Chat Text color

Select the chat text color.

Hold On Greetings

Type in a "hold on" message the visitor will see as they hold on while an operator is selected to respond to chat session request.

Offline Text

Type in the message visitors will see when they request chat session when chat system is offline.

Live chat should be on secure server

Check this box if you want live chat to be on secure server.

Show users number of chat requests in queue

Check this box if you want your visitor to see number of chat requests in queue.

Show users the approximate hold time

Check this box to show your visitors the approximate hold time.

Number of seconds used for hold time estimate

Set the estimate number of seconds used for hold time.

Logo Alignment

Set logo alignment from drop down selections.

Online Image (150 by 95 pixels)

Browse desired online image.  Recommended dimensions are given.

Delete online image

Check this box to delete online image.

Offline Image (150 by 95 pixels)

Browse desired offline image.  Recommended dimensions are given.

Delete offline image

Check this box to delete offline image.

Live Chat Home Page Online Message

Type live chat home page online message or use default.

Save Chat Transcripts Options

Select whether you want to save chat transcripts from give drop down options.

Automatically delete transcripts that are older than

Select time frame for how long you want to keep chat transcripts or when you want to automatically delete the transcripts.

Pop-up Image X Coordinates

Set X coordinate of where you want your chat image to pop-up.

Pop-up Image Y Coordinates

Set Y coordinate of where you want your chat image to pop-up.

Force the user to hit send before the information is sent

Check this box if you want to force user to hit send before the information is sent.

Automatically pop-up live chat graphic

Check this box to automatically pop-up live chat graphic.

Launch Live Chat Automatically After

Sent number of seconds you want before the system automatically launches live chat.

Login Manager

From this section you can set your support system to require a login before your customers receive help. This section is optional and is turned off by default. If you require users to login before they get help you will also be able to track how long each user spends with your staff, allowing you to bill users if you require based on these figures.

Have a login before chat

Check this box to have customers login before chat.

If you have login, allow new guest to chat without login

Check this box if you want new guests to chat without login.

Allow registered users to retrieve password

Check this box to allow registered users to retrieve password.

Allow new users to sign up

Check this box to allow new users to sign up.
