Manage Departments

From this section of the add help desk software you can add, modify, and delete the departments in your support system.  To delete a Department select it and click the Delete Selected button.  To modify a Department, click the button next to the Department and you will be taken to the modify screen.

From this section you can add additional departments for your support desk.

Field

Description

Department Name:

Type in the name of your new Department.

This is the default department:

Used only if users do not select department.

Share transcripts:

This department's chat transcripts will be accessible by other users

Display Department Name on user interface:

This determines whether the department name will be shown to users

Department Logo (300 by 56 pixels):

This is optional but you can browse in a logo for the department you are creating.

Delete Department Logo:

Check this box to delete the department logo and update the page for this to take effect.

Logo Alignment:

Set the alignment of the department logo. You only have two options; center and left.

Online Chat Image (150 by 95 pixels):

Browse in the online chat image you want people to see for your particular department. This section is optional.

Delete Online Chat Image:

Check this box to delete the current Online Chat Image. This won't take effect until you update the page.

Offline Chat Image (150 by 95 pixels):

Browse in the offline chat image you want people to see for your particular department. This section is optional.

Delete Offline Chat Image:

Check this box to delete the current Offline Chat Image. This won't take effect until you update the page.

POP Server (example: www.yourdomain.com):

Type the server of your pop account.

POP Username:

Type the username of pop account.

POP Password:

Type password of pop account.

Port:

This is the port email will be accessed through

Delete email from server after creating tickets:

Check this box if you want to delete the emails from your server after a ticket is created.
